This is the theory of the multiple intelligences and the eight ways we can choose to teach depending on our students’ needs. Our brain is really complex and it is divided in two hemispheres. Right hemisphere is creative and relax and the left hemisphere is more organized and logical. We can take advantage on this characteristics to teach our students in a very specific way and reach our most important goal “students to learn”. This theory was developed in 1983 by Dr. Howard Gardner, professor on education at Harvard University. This theory explains that the IQ test is limited showing the real potential of human beings. Dr. Gardner developed a group of eight different intelligences to discover how children and adults learn by developing different skills. He defined intelligence as the capacity to solve problems in different environment. Some people is labeled as “learning disabled” because teachers don’t discover their particular way to learn and they don’t receive the needed attention from schools. This theory wants to propose a change in schools trying to make teachers to be trained and prepared to present their classes in different and creative ways, using music, art, drawings, technology, nature, role play activities, trips, etc. This is a tool that promote the students’ work.

Example of Activity:
HUMAN PREPOSITIONS
With this game we will develop the Interpersonal intelligence because students work in groups; we also use the kinesthetic intelligence because they are moving; the visual intelligence because they look objects, and the musical intelligence because they sing a song.
Objective: Teaching the prepositions of place
Process:
Materials: Objects to represent the prepositions. If you don’t want to learn the song and teach it to your students using flashcards, use a computer and a projector and play de song in YouTube.

Objective: Teaching the prepositions of place
Process:
- First you have to teach the students the prepositions ON-UNDER-IN FRONT-NEXT TO-BEHIND-BETWEEN. Use different objects to represent each.
- Then using your hands, teach them this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYerFOnPxu8
- At the end, ask them to look for a partner, tell them some prepositions and they have to use their bodies to represent what you say.
